We all love a good story! Perhaps that why some read the blogs of others. There is a hymn that begins: Tell me the story of Jesus…. which we sang at CPCC last Sunday.
It was “Palm Sunday” and I picked the hymn on purpose. PALM SUNDAY is the beginning of “Holy Week” leading up to Good Friday (the day of Christ’s crucifixion) and climaxing with Easter Sunday (the day He rose from the dead). The story leading up to Easter is important too. Christians should regularly read one of the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John) to grow in their knowledge of the story, and of Jesus the Lord.
But the story of Jesus during Holy Week is a special, precious study for believers. There is so much to reflect upon in those days leading to the cross, and the empty tomb.
Don’t just wait to observe Good Friday, or celebrate on Easter Sunday! Get back to the story! Read, ponder, marvel and worship the One who came, died and rose again for sinners.
