I am in Lakeshore, Mississippi, with a team of volunteers from Clifton Park, NY, to help victims of Hurricane Katrina rebuild their homes — and their lives. With me are my kids, Andrew, Kathryn & Matthew, as well as Brian MacArevey, Matt & Ben Hopkins, Anthony Romano, Walter & Seth Dick, and three friends from another NY church (John Sireci and sons Isaac and Luke).We drove here in my large Ford van, logging 833 miles on Saturday (over 15 hours), before an overnight in Gastonia, NC (with the Tyrees). After breakfast and worship on Sunday we added another 700 miles (12+ hours) before arriving here around 9:30 PM CST.
