On October 31, 1517 Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses — which led the way to sola scriptura, sola gratia, sola fide, and solus Christus (salvation according to the Scripture is by grace alone through faith alone by Christ alone) — and the great Protestant Reformation was underway.
