Friends, New York’s top elected official seeks to lead us in the wrong direction, while using bad logic to promote bad legislation! The NYT reports this:
Gov. David A. Paterson on Thursday announced he would introduce a bill to legalize same-sex marriage, drawing on the soaring oratory of the civil rights movement to call on the Legislature to add New York to the four states that have already authorized such unions.
Comparing the status of gay men and lesbians to that of African-Americans, Jews, women and other groups who were historically excluded from full political and social equality, Mr. Paterson said he would lead the movement to authorize same-sex marriage in the Empire State.
How can you compare the immoral choices and behavior of homosexual persons with the inherent qualities race or gender? This is not right, and we must defend the sanctity of marriage in New York.

the choice to practice the religion that you desire is something that has taken a long time to finally come about in this country as well….
i understand the religious hatred towards gays, but dont forget how hitler picked groups to have people hate sothat he could manipulate them…

Of course “point of view” is important. Mine is the historical Judeo-Christian view that says our Creator made mankind male and female, and established the natural bonds of marriage as one man and one woman. Other pairings are unnatural, and (as God’s Word so clearly declares in both OT + NT) homosexual pairings are sinful. There are lots of things that make people sinful (I have sins to worry about!); yet, there is also a Savior from sins committed (that would be Jesus), and one who trusts in the Lord for salvation seeks to cease sinning.
By the way, I did not express any hatred; I did place shame on Gov Paterson (who is not gay). Please don’t do yourself what you accuse me of doing (hate). Let’s talk over our viewpoints and the evidence of nature and science (and truth — we cannot both be right!). I’m here….
