I recently left the Republican Party and joined the Constitution Party; it’s a much more principled choice for Christians. The lesser of two evils is still evil. We need to vote principle over pragmatism, and Christians need to stop being told that Republican = Christian.

Everyone remembers the 2000 Presidential election. Florida had a recount dispute and the outcome of the election between George W. Bush and Al Gore was not decided for more than a month after balloting. State results tallied on election night gave 246 electoral votes to Bush and 255 votes to Gore, with New Mexico with 5 electoral votes, Oregon with 7 electoral votes, and Florida with 25 electoral votes too close to call.
After an intense recount process and the decision of Bush v. Gore, George W. Bush officially won Florida’s electoral votes and as a result the Presidential election with a total of 271 electoral votes to 267. Your vote made a difference in that race.
There is another area where your vote makes a difference. This decision does not just make a difference for four years but for eternity. John 3: 16-18 says: “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already; because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
A no vote is not believing in Jesus. Not voting is the same as a no vote. A yes vote is believing in Jesus. Believing in Jesus means you realize you are guilty of sin (Romans 3:10, 23) and deserve eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23), but you realize that Jesus died in your place for your sin (Romans 5:8) and you accept this free gift of salvation by faith (Romans 10:9-10 and Ephesians 2:8-9).

Thanks for posting your comment. The comparison of “voting” to repenting & expressing faith in Jesu Christ is catchy, but you need to be careful. God saves sinners by His grace; no one can save themselves by “voting” or choosing Christ. It was Jesus who said it so clearly in JOHN 6:44, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.” Amen.
