There is a fine little video online HERE by Dr David Murray of Puritan Reformed Seminary provides 10 fast facts the ‘back-sliding’ of believers. Particularly keen is his observation that this condition is called ‘back-sliding’ not ‘back-jumping’ because it typically happens so gradually.

Psalm 119:11 says, I have stored up [KJV ‘hid’] your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Manton points out: A thing may be hidden two ways, either to conceal it, or else to cherish and keep it. And it is kept in the heart, not the brain, or mind, and memory only, but the heart, the seat of emotions. To hide the word in our hearts, is to understand and remember it, and to be affected to it and with it.
Is God’s Word precious to you? Do you gather it safely in, or leave it scattered about? Do you recall what the virgin Mary did with the Words of the angels? What do you do with the Word?
