Every even-numbered year I encourage our congregation to read through the entire Bible. Some Christians have yet to read the whole Bible, no less in one year. It’s not easy, but it is important, and profitable.

This morning’s reading led me to some interesting thoughts that might help us. Try reading aloud. Justin Taylor’s blog cites the esteemed Dr J I Packer on the old practice of reading (and praying) aloud. I encourage you to check it out.

There is also a reference to the ESV website, where you can only read the Word, but click on a link and hear it read to you. Check out Psalm 1 there.

Read the Word. Do not grow weary, but drink deeply – and live!
